isolation ideas •

We can create whatever environment we want at home. We have the time to do it now.
Here are some ideas:
• Have a little beach themed day (after pyjama week is over) .
• Go for a walk, a bike ride, go to the beach, go to the forests. Just clean your hands properly and try not to touch anything. Nature has our backs! In Canada so far, we are not limited to our homes. Just avoiding public places where you’re touching things and dealing with people.
• Make yourself some ‘quarantinis’ - a martini but at home 😂
• FaceTime with your friends, even if they’re in the same city.
• Make a ‘drive in theatre’ for the kids with the cardboard boxes you have stocked up in the house from all your online purchases! Get them to decorate each car and put some pillows in it and place them in front of the tv on the carpet.
• If you have to work from home and it’s a new concept for you, here are some amazing tips by @freelancingfemales - Click the image below or here.
• Try some new recipes : Tasty
• @mariekondo your space! What a good time to do that! (If you have Netflix, check out Marie Kondo and see what I mean) - Reorganizing and purging your space. It’s a great time to donate to those in need.
• Learn guitar or whatever instrument you’ve been meaning to learn. YouTube has some great free tutorials. I’m currently learning the ukulele, unsuccessfully but I might get better these couple months.
• Check out if your local library has an online presence - in Vancouver, BC, we can download an app called Libby, input our library card number and borrow books and audiobooks for free!
• Listen to podcasts and binge watch shows. Some uplifting podcasts I like:
@thepapayapodcast - Great podcast about self love, small businesses, staying active, staying happy and just enjoying your life to the fullest the best ways Sarah Nicole and guests know how!
@mydadwrotea - Such a funny show - about a dad who writes an erotic novel and asks his son to read it and tell him what he thinks.. so instead he reads it out loud with a little help (and bantering) from his friends.
@offthevinepodcast - A wine and life podcast with Kaitlyn Bristowe
@createthelove - Mark Groves has great podcasts on love and relationship advice. In a time where you may be stuck together or alone and lonely, it’s a great idea to work on yourself!
And some not always uplifting but great:
@casefilepodcast - great real murder mysteries all over the world.
Dr.Death - a neurosurgeon that slipped through the cracks and has killed some and injured many. Find out how!
@joeroganpod - He’s got a great podcast on the virus with Michael Osterholm as a guest, amongst others!
