she just is •

The moon.
She just is.
She doesn’t ask when to show up or how to be shaped.
She hides behind the clouds when she needs to.
She shines bright, dancing amongst the stars when she is ready.
She puts smiles on their faces, sometimes tears, sometimes sleepless nights, and sometimes, they fall in love while being under her embrace.
She has many faces, but she is always herself.
She is unapologetic and bold, yet elegant and graceful.
She isn’t afraid when she’s outshined by her sister, the sun, she knows she will get her moment.
She’s appreciated without judgement.
She just is, and she has a lot to teach them.
A selection of five beautiful women and their unapologetic thoughts on their body, and their life. My story of growing up with self-hate, hitting puberty at a young age, body struggles through time, nicknames and bullying throughout it all, and coming out on top can be heard below:

The sun contains 99% of the mass in our solar system. about 1,000,000 earths could fit in our sun. the sun is HUGE. the sun is MASSIVE. you are but a speck."

Social media often plays a big role in making a lot of people feel this way, but it’s important to realize that it i s a highlight reel and a lot of the time looks a lot better than reality really is. This opened my eyes and made me realize how important it is to love yourself from the inside out, which is what made me fall in love with the world of health and fitness. The idea of being able to motivate and push girls to be happy in their bodies and to be the healthiest versions of themselves brings me so much joy. It makes me so happy to also see the modelling industry and world becoming so much more open to body diversity. Keep in mind that perfection is perception.”

As a young girl I was only exposed to one body type that was defined as “perfect” and now I am so lucky to be a part of representing curvy bodies in Canadian media! It is so important that young people feel represented and learn self-love and confidence at a young age.”
