So I have had this viewing booked since before the world got strange, and FINALLY I get to display at this amazing brewery in Vancouver!
If there’s anything in my shop you have had your eyes on, or if you want to experience my art out of the tiny screen, please come on down. Cannot wait to share my art with you!
When: March 1 - March 27th 2022
Where: Strange Fellows Brewing - 1345 Clark Dr, Vancouver, BC / Charles Clarke Gallery
Burning nature back on itself: fur by fur, stone by stone.
I believe that the world is kind, hopeful and happy. I believe there is beauty in everyone and everything if you just let it in. Nature reminds us of this every single day, though some of us are too busy to engage with it.
I want my art to bring that luscious landscape and gorgeous wildlife right back into your home;
into your dining room makeshift office,
into your bathroom to disrupt your phone scrolling time,
onto your garage walls inspiring your next DIY project,
on the wall next to your baby’s crib where they can experience it every day.
Did you know that’s why we bring natural stone, wood and living plants into our homes? That’s right, it’s because it feeds us with the life that our ancestors were so lucky to live.
Each wood piece is burned by hand in my at home studio, using wood salvaged or purchased from Canadian lumber yards and arborists. Using a variety of heated metal tips, it slowly burns into the wood, bringing out a new life from the grain.
“So this, I believe, is the central question upon which all creative living hinges: Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?”
― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear

From Strange Fellows:
Tucked in at the far end of the Tasting Room is Charles Clark. No, he's not a bar regular but our flex gallery space where we host rotating art exhibitions, born of the idea of making art accessible in unexpected places.
