ABOUT THE ARTIST:
I started drawing before I could remember, and with every new art doodle, my great grandmother would ooh and ahh, and say “These golden hands you have”.
I grew up believing you can’t make art as a career. The world tells you that… so I used my art to get into architecture school. I worked in the field for a while and once I became restless with creativity block, I grew some courage, started a new chapter & took a leap of faith; that’s right, I followed the forbidden, the unadvised road to making your hobby your job. (Though I still contract in architecture because my art alone does not pay the rent. *See sentence 1 of this paragraph.)
Bisa was a nickname my older sister gave me and Lisa is short for a fox in Bulgarian. Much like a little fox, I was an energetic, sneaky girl who never grew bored of pranking others and making them laugh. Bisa Lisa Studio is a reminder to my childhood self that I’m allowed to dream and spread smiles through my craft, and if I have to sneak my way past the conventional working world, I will figure out a way.
